Key responsibilities Performing phacoemulsification surgery to remove cataracts and implant intraocular lenses Conducting pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care for patients Participating in clinical consultations and providing expert advice on ophthalmic conditions Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care Utilizing advanced technology and equipment for surgical procedures Contributing to research and continuous professional development in ophthalmology Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation Educating patients on ocular health and treatment options Participating in community outreach and education programs Adhering to ethical and professional standards in patient care and surgical practice Required qualifications Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree Completion of residency training in ophthalmology Board certification in ophthalmology Fellowship training in phacoemulsification and cataract surgery Valid state medical license and DEA registration Demonstrated surgical expertise in phacoemulsification procedures Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to continuous learning and professional development Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Adherence to ethical and patient-centered care principles Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination Experience in mentoring and training medical students and residents is preferred Knowledge of and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards Capability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic clinical setting Strong organizational and time-management abilities
