Overview

The MBBS ICU Exposure position is a pivotal role within our healthcare organization, focusing on the specialized care of critically ill patients. This position is essential to ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in the Intensive Care Unit. The successful candidate will leverage their medical expertise and previous ICU experience to assist in managing complex patient cases requiring continual assessment and intervention. This role involves collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs. The ICU environment demands quick decision-making, effective communication with both medical staff and families, and a thorough understanding of advanced medical technologies and protocols. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine immediate and ongoing healthcare needs.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patient responses.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
  • Utilize advanced medical equipment for monitoring and managing critical patient conditions.
  • Participate in resuscitation efforts during emergency situations.
  • Document all patient care activities and ensure accurate medical records.
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans and health management.
    • Conduct regular rounds to assess patient progress and adapt care plans as needed.
    • Supervise nursing staff and provide guidance and support during patient care.
    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
    • Engage in continuing education to remain current with medical advancements.
    • Provide crisis intervention for both patients and families during critical health situations.
    • Assist in training and mentoring new staff members in ICU protocols.
    • Maintain a safe and sanitized ICU environment in accordance with health regulations.

    Required Qualifications

    • MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) degree from an accredited institution.
    • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit setting.
    • Licensure to practice medicine in the relevant state or country.
    • Familiarity with critical care technologies and clinical procedures.
    • Current certifications in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Strong knowledge of pharmacology and medication administration.
    • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to work in high-stress situations.
    • Experience in conducting patient assessments and creating care plans.
    • Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary medical teams.
    • Proven crisis intervention skills and emotional resilience.
    • Commitment to ethical medical practices and patient advocacy.
    • Willingness to work flexible hours, including night shifts and weekends.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Ability to provide compassionate care and support to patients and families.
    • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
    • Membership in a relevant medical association is an asset.
