Key responsibilities

  • Performing phacoemulsification surgery to remove cataracts and implant intraocular lenses
  • Conducting pre-operative evaluations and post-operative care for patients
  • Participating in clinical consultations and providing expert advice on ophthalmic conditions
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Utilizing advanced technology and equipment for surgical procedures
  • Contributing to research and continuous professional development in ophthalmology
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and documentation
  • Educating patients on ocular health and treatment options
  • Participating in community outreach and education programs
  • Adhering to ethical and professional standards in patient care and surgical practice

Required qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree
  • Completion of residency training in ophthalmology
  • Board certification in ophthalmology
  • Fellowship training in phacoemulsification and cataract surgery
  • Valid state medical license and DEA registration
  • Demonstrated surgical expertise in phacoemulsification procedures
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Adherence to ethical and patient-centered care principles
  • Attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination
  • Experience in mentoring and training medical students and residents is preferred
  • Knowledge of and adherence to regulatory and accreditation standards
